According to a report by Kesehatan on December 16, the price of vapes in Indonesia will rise from January 1, 2025.
Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati officially issued new regulations setting minimum retail prices for vapes and other tobacco products. This regulation is included in the “Minister of Finance Regulation No. 96 of 2024” (PMK No. 96 Tahun 2024) and will take effect on January 1, 2025.
According to relevant documents, the government decided to increase the retail price of vapes, but the consumption tax was not increased.
Vape prices:
Heat-not-burn (HNB, heated tobacco products) are priced at IDR 6,240 (USD 0.4) per gram, up 6.01%;
Open vape oil is priced at IDR 1,368 (USD 0.09) per milliliter, up 22.03%;
Each cartridge of a cartridge-type vape is priced at IDR 41,983 (USD 2.6), up 5.99%.
