According to El Comercio, the plenary session of the Peruvian Congress passed the draft laws No. 3412, 3437 and 3732 on the control of tobacco and nicotine product consumption with 73 votes in favor, 13 votes against and 8 abstentions for the first time.
The bill explicitly prohibits the sale of vapes or atomizing devices to minors and strictly restricts the advertising of such products. In addition, the health warnings on cigarette packaging will be increased from the original 50% to 70% of the surface area, and vape packaging must also include health warnings.
